On artful living

Through this journal, I want to provide an insight into the life of a woman balancing the demands of life as an entrepreneur, photographer and artist. Also, I want to capture the joys of small, quiet moments, peaceful days spent in solitude, and the creative 'coping' mechanisms that help me navigate life whilst searching for its purpose.

Some of you might recognise this title - I have started a similar blog at the end of 2022 on my old website.

However, it was hard to keep that flame going; a few months later I have opened a coffee shop with my husband, and 2023 was swallowed by all the stress, long days of work and everything the success of that coffee shop has demanded of me. I’ve lost a few family members, and that grief was amplified by losing my identity as a leather artisan. I never thought one day I’ll stop working from my home studio - it was never part of the plan to sacrifice my workshop, but at the start of 2024 I had to face the reality that, although I had finally worked a plan to get back to working full time from my studio, the heart wasn’t there anymore. All the grief of losing that side of my life was replaced by the excitement of a new chapter: my newfound passion for baking, paired with photography, made me dream of a career as a food photographer and stylist.

In the late spring of 2024 I have created this website, and started to give my photography a chance.

I have also made a few changes in my every day life, to recover from burnout, and to slowly build a new life - one kinder to my neurodivergent needs.

I hope you’ll follow me on this journey of self discovery and life changing revolution, through photography, baking, cooking, gardening, travelling, painting…and all the other passions I dedicate myself to.

I hope to inspire & encourage you to seek the every day beauty, find joy in simple things, and strive for a life that nurtures your true self.
